Layered Perspectives (Intermediate)
Layered Perspectives (Intermediate)
In this class, we’ll bring our weaving fully into three dimensions with multi-layer, double-wide, tubular, and reversible fabrics using doubleweave. In four sessions, the course will cover set-up for 8-shafts allowing up to 4 layers of plain weave, as well as patterned double weave, and doubleweave pick-up for depicting images. This course is ideal for weavers with some experience reading drafts and dressing the loom.
Materials from the studio can be used for an added fee, or students can consult with the instructor to source their own yarn. This course spans two 6-hour sessions and includes additional work time in the studio as needed.
Please note that this workshop utilizes a floor loom and other equipment which requires simultaneous use of the upper and lower body. Dressing the loom involves sitting for an extended period with concentrated eye and hand work.
Building access: The Grand on River building has a zero step entrance and single stall restroom with one step down. We are located at the Warren bus stop. Free street parking is available across the street on 17th.
